ARTIST STATEMENT

My creative process relies on a search for truth in the world—a truth that, over time and through continual practice of creating art, stems from an experience of what I see. I rely on nature and the dynamic quality of light and movement to guide my pursuit of creating a unified whole on the canvas, where color relationships communicate a harmony. Through rapid brush strokes, I attempt to express a quality genuine to my relationship with my subject matter. In this way, I work from the senses rather than intellect to cultivate a clear, distinct artistic vision.
